it's everyone's favourite jockanese actor...

...no, apart from sean connery. it's...

...ewan mcgregor!

born on march 31st 1971 and shying away from all those stereotypical scottish things (he wasn't stocky enough to toss the caber, playing bagpipes aggravated his asthma, he wasn't incomprehensible enough to appear in rab c nesbitt, and wearing kilts gave him a cold - though he could easily have become that dimpled man on the vodafone adverts) mcgregor enrolled at the guildhall school of music and drama.

although he starred in t.v. series "lipstick on your collar," his countless apperances in film four productions gave him his break. "shallow grave," a film which embodies all aspects of living in a student house (one inhabitant is found dead, one goes nuts and lives in the loft, drilling holes in the ceiling, while their only sustenance is an out-of-date packet of cornflakes drenched in ice-cold sour milk) was one of his first. alex, his character has quite long hair, by the way. then there's "trainspotting," which was filmed on what must've been a quite day (or, sadly, a normal day) at the train station, as throughout the film, no trains were, in fact, spotted, to the immense disappointment of the cast. in this film, ewan has no hair, but wears an incredibly tight t-shirt and some nice trainers.

also there's "velvet goldmine" which additionally stars eddie izzard. but, for a change, it's mcgregor wearing the frills. next, there's the fabulous "life less ordinary," which, quite simply shows a day in the life of robert the loser, which is less than ordinary. shocking eh?! in this film, ewan sports a lovely unkempt mop and wears a rather fetching floral shirt. oh, and the tight t-shirt also makes a comeback. he sings oasis' "round are way" with some gusto too! lastly there's "star wars: episode one" which features mcgregor as the sickeningly subservient obi-wan kenobi. in this, his hair is just plain silly. by the way, his uncle also starred in the star wars trilogy. oh, mcgregor also starred in an episode of "er," but i can't remember much of it, but he wore a brown jumper and had short hair!
